About the Role

HotelJobs is partnering with an established Safari company with a small portfolio of luxury lodges in Southern Africa to recruit an experienced and commercially astute Director of Lodge Operations. The successful candidate will be based in Durban, South Africa, and will require a strong record in multi-property operations management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review monthly management accounts and report on key operational metrics including occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, GOP and labour costs
  • Lead performance reviews with General Managers
  • Identify new portfolio opportunities and participate in site assessments and acquisition due diligence
  • Lead the onboarding and integration of newly acquired or managed properties
  • Uphold Group standards while consistently delivering an outstanding guest experience
  • Take strategic ownership across all properties, overseeing accommodation, food and beverage, guest services, maintenance, facilities, procurement and reservations

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of senior hospitality leadership experience
  • Proven track record managing multi-property luxury hospitality operations
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen with the ability to interpret and act on operational and financial data
  • Familiarity with AI tools, business intelligence platforms and hospitality technology systems
  • Exposure to acquisitions, due diligence and property integration projects will be an advantage
  • Semper PMS experience will be an advantage

Qualifications

  • A degree in Hospitality Management, Business or a related field is beneficial
