About the Role
We are seeking a Logistics and Planning Coordinator (imports) to join our team in Durban, responsible for ensuring seamless import operations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Update Transnet shipping schedules and monitor vessel activity
- Track containers from origin through arrival, port release, and cold store intake
- Coordinate internal cold store receiving, storage, and dispatch planning
- Projected forecasting of incoming containers
- Liaise with State Vet for inspections, permits, and release procedures
- Check and validate import documentation
- Communicate with shipping lines, clearing agents, State Vet & internal teams
Requirements
- Matric and a relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics (advantage)
- Experience working inside a commercial cold store operation (advantage)
- Understanding of State Vet procedures (advantage)
- Experience in logistics, shipping, imports, or clearing & forwarding
- Strong Excel, planning, and communication skills
- High attention to detail & ability to work with time-sensitive schedules
