About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HCV Underwriter to join our team in Durbanville. As a key member of our underwriting department, you will be responsible for assessing risk exposure and claims history to determine appropriate cover and pricing. If you have a strong background in commercial vehicle insurance and excellent technical underwriting skills, we would like to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite Heavy Commercial Vehicle risks according to underwriting guidelines
- Handle new business, renewals, endorsements, and policy amendments
- Assess risk exposure and claims history to determine appropriate cover and pricing
- Provide technical underwriting support to brokers and internal teams
- Ensure compliance with FAIS and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate policy records and underwriting documentation
Requirements
- RE5 qualification with full FAIS credits
- 7 years experience as an HCV Underwriter
- Proven short-term insurance underwriting experience
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English
- Strong attention to detail and risk assessment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
