Driving Range Supervisor required for the East London area

Position Summary:

The Driving Range Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the driving range, ensuring a positive experience for guests and efficient functioning of the facility. Responsibilities include managing staff, maintaining the range’s cleanliness and appearance, managing inventory of golf balls and supplies, and potentially assisting with golf instruction or events.

Another primary function of the Driving Range Supervisor is providing first-contact, customer interaction including, ball sales, selling merchandise. Responsible for the consistent delivery of expected service levels as well as effective communication both with clients as well as ensuring cross departmental communication. Liaising with the relevant departments, clients and all other parties involved to ensure successful logistics, resulting in outstanding guest satisfaction.

The Driving Range Supervisor will also be assigned specific, often varying tasks on a day-to-day basis by the General Manager and Golf Manager. It is critical that the Driving Range Supervisor be able to adapt to meet changing demands and requirements while in the workplace.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Excellent communication skills demonstrating honesty and integrity.
  • Prepare and implement regular ball counts and reports.
  • Opening and closing of the facility, managing the advertised operating hours.
  • Performing daily cash ups and all other administrative tasks.
  • Regularly assess, together with the Golf Manager, to ensure that stock rotation and quantities are maintained.
  • Perform shop stock checks and submit relevant reports.
  • Provide information to both existing and potential clients based on information provided in meetings, phone calls and via email.
  • Ensure that payments are received upfront, effectively managing ball sales.
  • Manage client and member requests and concerns and provide feedback to the relevant parties.
  • Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising of driving range staff.
  • Ensuring the driving range is clean, well-maintained, and safe. This includes tasks like ball retrieval, ball washing, mat replacement, divot repair, and keeping the area free of litter.
  • Maintaining adequate supplies of range balls, tees, and other necessary items, and managing inventory levels to ensure smooth operations.
  • Providing excellent customer service to guests, addressing inquiries, and ensuring a positive experience on the range.
  • Enforcing safety regulations, educating staff and guests on safety procedures, and maintaining a safe environment on the driving range.
  • May be involved in managing budgets, tracking revenue, and other potential reporting.
  • Assisting with the setup and execution of golf events held at the driving range.
  • Communicating effectively with other staff members, management, and customers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensuring the overall appearance and functionality of the driving range, including related areas like the practice green and bunkers.
  • Working with other departments (e.g., golf shop) to coordinate activities and provide a seamless experience for guests.
