About the Role
The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Fort Hare is seeking a highly qualified Clinical Preceptor to join our Department of Natural and Rehabilitative Sciences (Speech-Language Pathology Program). As a Clinical Preceptor, you will play a crucial role in shaping the clinical training program of Speech-Language Pathology and contributing to departmental activities. This 36-month contract position is renewable based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative duties related to the clinical training program of Speech-Language Pathology and departmental activities.
- Clinical supervision of students to ensure that they accumulate a variety of clinical hours as stipulated in the HPCSA guidelines.
- Clinical lecturing, including giving extra tutorials to students, preparing case-based seminars, and having discussions.
- Providing feedback to students and lecturers.
- Assessment of students’ performance in all clinical areas.
- Research co-supervision of undergraduate students.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- A valid professional registration as a Speech Language Therapist with HPCSA.
- At least 2 years of clinical practice in the field of speech language therapy post community service.
