About the Role

A leading multi-disciplinary professional engineering consultancy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Gqeberha or East London, bringing expertise in mechanical engineering and project management to drive successful projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assessment and reporting on existing buildings
  • Preparation of tender documents (inclusive of drawings and bills of quantities)
  • Preparation of reports (Project Inception, Concept and Viability, Design, tender evaluation, progress, financial, close-out, etc.)
  • Day-to-day contract administration and management of mechanical engineering projects
  • Handling of technical queries and resolutions and leading Site and Technical Meetings on site, including the taking of minutes
  • Communicate frequently with all professionals and clients
  • Handling of technical queries and dispute resolutions in conjunction with others
  • Assist with project safety and environmental matters during construction
  • General office and project related admin
  • Assist with the company when tendering for new work

Requirements

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer or Professional Technologist
  • At least 6 years post-graduate experience in the planning, design and construction of Mechanical engineering and building projects from inception to completion
  • Experience in HVAC, Wet Services, Fire Engineering, Lifts, Pump Stations
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Revit
  • Experience in the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) software
