About the Role
The Senior Remuneration & Benefits Manager will lead remuneration strategy, governance, and reward frameworks in a complex, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate will drive benefits strategy, administration, and optimization, while ensuring statutory compliance and maintaining remuneration and benefits policies aligned to organisational strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead remuneration strategy, governance, and reward frameworks
- Oversee payroll operations in a complex, high-volume environment
- Drive benefits strategy, administration, and optimization
- Manage job evaluation, salary benchmarking, and incentive schemes
- Ensure statutory compliance (SARS, UIF, COIDA, etc.)
- Oversee payroll systems governance (SAP HCM / PaySpace or similar)
- Provide remuneration reporting to Exco and audit committees
- Maintain remuneration and benefits policies aligned to organisational strategy
- Lead, coach, and develop remuneration, benefits, and payroll team
Requirements
- 8–15 years’ specialist experience in remuneration, rewards, and payroll governance
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a management or senior specialist role
- Strong background in large industrial or manufacturing environments
- Proven experience in unionised environments
- Solid working knowledge of payroll systems (SAP HCM, PaySpace or equivalent)
- Strong expertise in salary benchmarking, incentives, and reward structures
- High-level exposure to statutory compliance and audit processes
