About the Role

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager for a prestigious luxury private game reserve in the Eastern Cape. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate hospitality leader to oversee the operations of a world-class safari property, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong financial performance and the successful leadership of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day lodge and reserve operations
• Ensure exceptional guest experiences and service delivery at all times
• Lead and mentor department heads and staff, creating a positive and high-performing team culture
• Manage budgets, forecasts and financial performance in line with company objectives
• Monitor and improve operational efficiencies while maintaining luxury standards
• Oversee guest relations and handle VIP guests and special requests
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations
• Drive staff development, training and performance management initiatives
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and local communities
• Work closely with conservation and reserve management teams to support the property’s broader objectives
• Oversee maintenance, housekeeping, food and beverage, front of house and guest activities departments
• Ensure the property consistently exceeds guest expectations and industry standards

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior management role within a luxury lodge, hotel or private game reserve. Proven leadership experience within high-end hospitality environments. Strong financial management, budgeting and reporting skills. Exceptional guest relations and hosting abilities. Excellent people management and team development skills. Strong operational knowledge across all lodge departments. Experience working in remote locations preferred. Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving abilities. Computer literacy and experience with hospitality management systems. Valid driver’s licence advantageous
