A well-established engineering company is seeking a Technical Sales & Technical Support Representative to join its team in Cape Town.
This role is ideal for a mechanically minded professional with a passion for both technical problem-solving and customer engagement. The successful candidate will provide technical support to customers, develop business opportunities, manage projects, and promote mechanical power transmission products and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical sales support and product recommendations to customers
Build and maintain strong customer relationships
Identify and pursue new business opportunities
Prepare quotations and technical proposals
Manage customer projects from enquiry through to completion
Provide technical guidance on mechanical power transmission products
Support customers with product selection and troubleshooting
Liaise with internal departments to ensure customer requirements are met
Monitor market trends and competitor activity
Deliver exceptional customer service and after-sales support
Requirements
Mechanical Engineering qualification (Diploma, Degree, or equivalent)
Technical sales experience within a mechanical engineering environment
Strong mechanical engineering background
Experience within the mechanical power transmission industry preferred
Good knowledge of geared motors, gear units, gearboxes, and gears
Project management experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Customer-focused and commercially driven
