About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Housekeeper to join our luxury boutique hotel in Franschhoek. As an integral member of our housekeeping team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and service excellence for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist to manage and supervise housekeeping staff
- Ensure inter-departmental cooperation, working collaboratively with other departmental heads to ensure maximum effectiveness and output for all departments occurs
- Make daily checks on rooms and other facilities to ensure standards have been met and daily operational timings adhered to
- Keep records and perform stocktaking exercises
- Assist in receiving, storing, and controlling of all housekeeping supplies, equipment, linen, and uniforms
- Prepare housekeepers’ work duty lists and distribute master keys, ensuring that keys are returned at the end of every shift
- Maintain an excellent and courteous relationship with guests
- Perform additional management duties within the lodge environment
- Report any maintenance defects to the Maintenance Department timeously
- Perform whatever additional duties that Senior Management deems fit
- Work overtime when requested by Senior Management
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position within a 5-star luxury property
- Impeccable communication skills both written and verbal
- Must be computer literate
- Leadership experience
- Strong training skills and experience
- Effective rostering abilities
- Knowledgeable with the controlling of expenses and inventories
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure

- Formal education/certifications (if applicable)
