Job Description
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the road freight and logistics market
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to grow revenue and expand market presence in Johannesburg and surrounding regions
- Conduct client needs analyses and propose tailored transport and logistics solutions that align with customer requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
- Prepare and deliver professional presentations, proposals, and quotations to prospective clients
- Negotiate pricing, service level agreements, and contract terms in line with company standards and profitability targets
- Collaborate closely with operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth onboarding and exceptional delivery performance
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge
- Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets, providing accurate reporting and sales forecasts to management
Requirements:
- Minimum 4-5 years experience in Road Freight
- Proven B2B sales experience, preferably within the road freight, logistics, or transport sector
- Strong understanding of South African road freight operations, routes, and market dynamics (advantageous)
- Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a competitive environment
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to engage decision-makers at all levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a consultative sales approach
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel for client meetings
- Highly self-motivated, goal-driven, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Professional, confident, and customer-centric mindset, with strong relationship-building capabilities
