Job Description

Key Responsibilities Continuous Improvement & Engineering Projects Lead external continuous improvement projects at opencast mining operations Identify productivity, cost, safety, and efficiency improvement opportunities Apply root cause analysis, Kaizen, and CI methodologies Define project scope, objectives, budgets, timelines, and success metrics Monitor KPIs and report on improvement impact and project outcomes Mining Operations & Data Analysis Analyse load & haul systems and mobile equipment performance Use fleet management and mining ICT systems to extract, analyse, and interpret data Prepare dashboards, reports, and presentations for senior stakeholders Support application engineering studies focused on cost/ton reduction Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management Build strong relationships with mine management, site teams, and OEM partners Lead change management initiatives and facilitate adoption of new processes Communicate project progress, risks, and outcomes clearly and professionally Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Support and promote safety, health, and environmental compliance Participate in risk assessments, investigations, and SHE improvement programs Ensure adherence to mining and occupational health & safety legislation Minimum Requirements Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Mining, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering Mining-specific qualifications will be advantageous Minimum Requirements Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Mining, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering Mining-specific qualifications will be advantageous Experience Minimum 6 years experience in mining, earthmoving, or mobile equipment environments Proven experience in: Continuous improvement & process optimisation Opencast mining load & haul operations Project management in mining or construction environments Root cause analysis and data-driven problem solving Experience with fleet management systems and data analytics (advantageous) Technical & Systems Skills Advanced MS Excel , Power BI / Tableau , and presentation skills Experience interpreting large data sets from mining fleet management system Additional Requirements Valid drivers licence Willingness to travel and work overtime when required (project-based) Personal Attributes Highly analytical, structured, and detail-oriented Strong customer focus with excellent communication skills Comfortable operating in demanding site-based environments Proactive, resilient, and able to drive change across diverse teams Results-driven with a passion for operational excellence
