Join our team as a Senior Forwarding Controller and bring your forwarding expertise to ensure operational excellence. This role is based at our Durban branch in Grindrod House. Education Matric 3-year freight forwarding related qualification at NQF level 3 or NQF level 4 or equivalent. Knowledge and experience 5 years import experience in the Clearing and Forwarding Industry, responsible for the forwarding of freight. INCO Terms To co-ordinate the freight movement of Import cargo through the international transport chain in terms of the clients import requirements. Commercial, transport, carrier & depot and statutory body documents & stamps Product specific freight handling & movement requirements. Basic international trade principles Applicable sections of Import & Export control Act Containerisation practice. Geography Functional business objectives and strategies Company service charge. Rate structure Carrier & depot conditions of trade Tariff calculation concepts.National currencies and international codes Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and Lotus) Problem solving skills and decision-making skills.Planning and organising Ability to handle pressure and change. Attention to detail Good Interpersonal skills Good communication skills (written &verbal Situation analysis.Client orientation Accuracy, Punctual. Advantageous attributes Customer service orientation – Able to handle a demanding customer environment. Good problem solving and decision-making skills. Dynamic self-starter that doesnt need to be told what to do and how to do it. Attention to detail and handle pressure. Can communicate with the team and contribute to the overall success of the team. Overall responsibilities include Plan freight movement Cost freight movements and prepare service estimates Coordinate freight movement of Import cargo Administration of file Comply with the requirements of the quality management system Ad Hoc
