About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the full credit control function, playing a critical role in ensuring timely collections and maintaining strong relationships with customers and their finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing and approving credit applications and opening letters
- Monitoring default debtors and proactively managing risk
- Preparing monthly reports and resolving account queries and claims
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies on customer accounts
- Managing rebates and promotional claims across branches, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution within the Syspro system
- Conducting weekly meetings with Sales Representatives to review age analysis and address customer concerns
- Liaising closely with the Credit Control Manager to highlight problematic accounts and provide updates on age analysis
- Maintaining accurate filing systems and documentation
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and their finance teams to ensure timely collections
- Managing SharePoint uploads, approvals, and suspense releases
- Maintaining master accounts and sub-accounts, including accurate masterfile updates
- Ensuring new accounts are correctly loaded onto SharePoint with all required documentation
- Managing customer portals, ensuring invoices and statements are correctly uploaded
- Controlling credit limits, terms, and insured values
- Reviewing age analysis and actively managing high-risk or overdue accounts
- Facilitating the distribution of statements and driving the collection process
- Allocating payments accurately based on remittances, including split payments
- Supporting ad hoc projects as required
- Ensuring effective customer account management and achievement of debtors targets
- Maintaining strong administrative controls and efficient communication channels
