About the Role
As a Security Control Room Operator at Elchemie, you will be responsible for monitoring live CCTV feeds across the mine and associated facilities, detecting and responding to security incidents, and maintaining optimal functionality of CCTV systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor live CCTV feeds across the mine and associated facilities.
- Detect, evaluate, and escalate any security incidents, safety breaches, or operational disruptions.
- Compile accurate incident reports, including narratives and recommended actions.
- Operate and maintain CCTV systems, including HIK Central, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Maintain logs of shift observations and support investigations where required.
- Participate in debriefs and assist with follow-up documentation after incidents.
- Support access control monitoring if required.
- Adhere strictly to site safety, OHS, and compliance protocols.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a CCTV Control Room (mining sector preferred).
- Grade 12 (Matric) (Mandatory).
- PSIRA Registration – Grade A/B (mandatory).
- Leaderware – SAMAE Assessment.
- CCTV Surveillance & Body Language Certification (Leaderware).
- Completed HIK Central Training.
- Proficient in report writing and basic computer literacy.
- Ability to pass a polygraph examination.
- Strong situational awareness, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
