About the Role

Komatsu South Africa Ltd is seeking a Senior Technical Product Specialist to provide expert technical product support across the organisation for Komatsu equipment within the KLTD, mining and construction business. The purpose of this role is to ensure the optimal performance, availability, quality, and lifecycle management of Komatsu mining and construction equipment by delivering expert product advice, disseminating technical information, and acting as a key technical liaison between internal teams, customers, dealers, suppliers, and Komatsu parent companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical advice on Komatsu mining and earthmoving equipment
  • Support branches, depots, dealers, and customers with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root cause analysis
  • Analyse electronic onboard control systems, hydraulic systems, and VHMS/Komtrax data to improve machine availability
  • Assist where equipment does not meet contractual availability targets
  • Conduct site visits across customer operations and regional Africa operations
  • Conduct audits and site visits to evaluate service quality and technical compliance
  • Investigate warranty claims and collaborate with all stakeholders on resolutions
  • Provide quality specifications and standards for locally sourced parts
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and service excellence initiatives

Requirements

  • Diploma (T5 / NQF Level 6) or equivalent in an engineering-related field (Advantageous)
  • Trade Certificate Millwright or HEM
  • Valid South African passport or able to obtain
