About the Role

HotelJobs, a dynamic and growing hospitality and travel group, is seeking a strategic and commercially astute Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead their financial sustainability and performance across South Africa, Tanzania, and the United States. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in luxury hospitality, lodge operations, or inbound tourism, with experience operating within complex multi-currency environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide responsible growth and expansion planning
  • Ensure disciplined allocation of capital
  • Maintain careful oversight of cash flow across multiple currencies
  • Establish strong governance practices and clear reporting structures to ensure accurate, consolidated financial information
  • Develop and manage a practical risk matrix, identifying financial, operational, regulatory, and currency-related risks
  • Implement controls and safeguards to protect the business
  • Embed consistent reporting routines, maintaining accurate and reliable financial data
  • Translate hospitality performance indicators and travel distribution results into clear, commercially meaningful insight

Requirements

  • Recognised professional financial qualification (e.g. CA(SA), CIMA, or equivalent designation)
  • 8+ years in senior financial leadership within luxury hospitality, lodge operations, or inbound tourism
  • Demonstrated experience operating within complex multi-currency environments
  • Commercial insight to manage treasury exposure, liquidity planning, and foreign exchange risk
  • Sound working knowledge of South African exchange control regulations and their practical implications for intercompany transactions

  • Formal education/certifications (e.g. Bachelor’s degree or higher)
