About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Endoscope Technician with hands-on repair experience to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our quality control process, you will be responsible for ensuring that endoscopes are restored to a safe and functional condition within defined procedures and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform incoming inspections and confirm repair requirements
- Conduct minor repairs on endoscopes, including external and semi-external components (e.g., bending rubber, distal caps, and lenses)
- Ensure that all repairs maintain device integrity and leak-tightness
- Perform in-process inspections and functional testing
- Accurately document repairs, parts usage, and outcomes
- Adhere to quality standards, SOPs, and regulatory requirements
- Follow all safety, PPE, and environmental procedures
- Identify when repairs exceed minor scope and escalate accordingly
- Support quality and turnaround time targets
Requirements
- National Diploma in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, or equivalent qualification
- 25 years’ relevant experience (or equivalent)
- Certification in endoscope inspection and minor repair (preferred)
