Job Summary

A leading financial institution is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to take on the role of Head: Home Loans Collections within their Personal & Private Banking segment. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on driving recovery strategies, enhancing collections performance, and protecting the banks secured lending portfolio. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement strategies to recover and rehabilitate distressed secured assets (immovable, tangible, and intangible) linked to doubtful debts Lead and guide the Home Loans Collections team, ensuring alignment with best practice, governance, and risk frameworks Oversee the full collections lifecycle, including foreclosure management , litigation strategies, and rehabilitation Drive collections target achievement while managing risk exposure and client outcomes Ensure robust compliance with legal and regulatory standards across all collection processes Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Credit, Legal, Risk, and Client Experience teams Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to optimize recovery efforts Ideal Candidate Profile: A seasoned leader with a strong background in collections, credit risk, and recovery Proven experience in leading teams and designing credit collections strategies Deep understanding of secured lending, portfolio analysis, and foreclosure processes Solid grasp of relevant legal, compliance, and governance frameworks Strong decision-making, leadership, and stakeholder management capabilities Minimum Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field 10 years of experience in credit risk, collections, or recovery, including functional leadership Certification in Risk Management (CRM) or equivalent is advantageous Experience in banking, home loans collections, and distressed asset recovery Familiarity with quantitative analysis, risk reporting, and workflow management Key Competencies: Strategic thinking & decision making Legal & regulatory compliance Risk awareness & portfolio management Collections and foreclosure oversight People leadership & performance management Communication, influence & resilience 📩 Looking to make a strategic impact in secured lending collections? Job Summary

Are you a strategic credit leader with a strong foundation in quantitative analysis and a passion for delivering impactful collections strategies? A leading African financial services group is seeking a Head of Home Loans Collections to drive the recovery and rehabilitation of secured assets across its Home Loans portfolio. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement robust collections and recovery strategies for distressed secured assets (immovable, tangible, and intangible). Lead and manage the Home Loans Collections team to achieve risk-adjusted targets and portfolio quality. Provide quantitative insights to inform decision-making and optimize portfolio performance. Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and compliance frameworks, especially around foreclosure processes. Collaborate with stakeholders across Credit Risk, Legal, and Finance teams to safeguard asset value and drive sustainability. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelors Degree in Business Commerce, Finance and Accounting, Mathematical Sciences, Risk Management, or Quantitative Studies . Certified Risk Manager (CRM) or similar qualification would be advantageous. A minimum of 10 years experience in credit risk, with a strong focus on collections, recoveries, portfolio analysis , or credit risk strategy in banking. Deep understanding of secured lending , particularly in the home loans space. Proven leadership in managing high-performing teams and designing recovery strategies grounded in data and analytics. Technical Skills & Competencies: Strong command of quantitative analysis , financial modelling, and credit risk assessment. Expertise in portfolio management, foreclosure processes, regulatory compliance , and risk reporting. Proficiency in data quality , workflow management , and financial/accounting control. Ability to drive performance while upholding high governance and ethical standards.
