Johannesburg: Highway Engineer – Construction Industry posted by Hire Resolve

Hire Resolve’s client is a leading Construction firm that is urgently seeking the expertise of a Highway Engineer.

Responsibilities: 

• Manage the design and construction of highway and roadway projects
• Prepare and review project designs, plans and specifications
• Oversee the preparation of permit applications and documentation
• Coordinate with project teams and external stakeholders, such as government agencies and consultants
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
• Monitor project progress and resolve any issues that arise
• Conduct inspections and quality control checks
• Manage project budgets and schedules
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineering staff

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in highway engineering and project management
• Strong knowledge of highway design standards and regulations
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other design software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with construction management software is a plus
• Knowledge of construction safety practices and regulations
