Job Title: Junior Draughtsman Reporting to: Operations Seniority Level: Mid-Career (2-4 yrs exp) Type: Temp Minimum Requirements Matric / Grade 12 National Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or equivalent AutoCAD Inventor experience (essential) CNC Milling Machine experience (advantageous / essential depending on company need) 24 years relevant experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of fabrication processes Ability to read and interpret technical drawings Proficient in 2D and 3D modelling Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills Duties & Responsibilities Produce detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using AutoCAD Inventor Develop accurate part, assembly, and manufacturing drawings Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure correct design specifications Update and revise drawings according to engineering or client changes Assist in creating BOMs (Bill of Materials) for projects Provide technical support in the design and development of components and assemblies Ensure all drawings comply with company standards and manufacturing capabilities Collaborate with CNC machinists to ensure designs are suitable for CNC milling production Review manufacturability of components and suggest improvements Maintain drawing records, revisions, and document control Participate in prototype development and testing where required Key Competencies Strong AutoCAD Inventor proficiency Knowledge of CNC milling processes and tolerances Understanding of machining, welding, and fabrication principles Good communication and teamwork abilities Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines High accuracy and attention to detail
