Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing end-to-end construction of new stores, revamps and refurbishments
- Conducting feasibility studies on new sites
- Benchmarking and monitoring cost per sqm
- Preparing capex calculations and payback period analysis
- Evaluating ROI and EBITDA impact of new site developments
- Overseeing procurement of construction materials, equipment and suppliers
- Managing contractors, transporters and service providers
- Driving council approval processes and permit compliance in collaboration with management
- Ensuring strict adherence to store layout and equipment specifications
- Managing project timelines to avoid costly delays
- Reporting into senior leadership and providing clear commercial updates
Qualification, skill and experience required:
- 8+ years’ experience in construction project management
- Experience in food retail or QSR store rollout environments
- Strong procurement and contractor management experience
- Proven exposure to feasibility studies and commercial analysis (ROI, capex, EBITDA)
- Experience managing multiple site builds concurrently
- Solid understanding of construction contracts and cost control
- Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying qualification advantageous
- Commercially minded and financially literate
- Strong knowledge of procurement and cost management
- Able to operate independently and build project capability from the ground up
- Hands-on leader able to manage site supervisors and contractors
- Comfortable working in a growth-focused, fast-moving organisation
