About the Role

Hire Resolve, a leading manufacturing company based in Johannesburg, Gauteng, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their team of professionals. With a strong focus on World Class Manufacturing (WCM) projects, we are looking for a skilled engineer who can lead project teams and ensure smooth operation of our Brakpan factory.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the physical assets under his/her control with regards to running order, preservation, and increasing plant efficiency
• Supervise and plan the daily tasks of the plant mechanical section
• Ensure good maintenance standards to minimize downtime and cost
• Recommend maintenance schedules for all equipment in the section and ensure that these schedules are maintained
• Inspect all sections of the plant frequently and assess demands that will be made on the Engineering department, taking action accordingly
• Do fault finding on machines and improve plant efficiency by optimizing available equipment
• Identify improvements in the process that could be made by modifying or replacing plant and bring such information to management
• Generate reports from SAP PM for analysis as required by management
• Identify and conduct training on mechanical systems, standards, and best practices
• Maintain a high standard of discipline and adherence to company procedures and required safety standards
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and observe safety precautions as laid down in the Machinery and Occupational Safety Act
• Lead project teams to ensure WCM projects are completed timeously
• Prepare CAPEX applications for improvement projects
• Ensure a clean and organized work environment in line with 5S
• Inform plant management of all situations or conditions that could result in downtime and take remedial action as necessary
• Negotiate, in the company’s interests, with suppliers of equipment and services, ensuring proper specifications are given to such suppliers
• Perform other tasks as specified by the Engineering Manager
• Report Safety and Environmental Incidents (TF 1-5, EVE) as required

Requirements

• BEng Mechanical degree
• Lean / WCM / TPM qualification
• Management or leadership qualification and advantage
• 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• SAP ERP proficiency
• PM & EEM experience is an advantage

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

• Salary: R750K/yr – R900K/yr, negotiable
