About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client in Steel manufacturing industry is urgently seeking an experienced Project and Engineering Manager to join their team in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Project and Engineering departments, ensuring projects are delivered on-time, within budget, and to high quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the Project and Engineering departments.
- Ensure that projects are delivered without injuries or breach of HSE rules and regulations, on-time, as per scope/specification, to high quality standards, within budget.
- Manage the Project and Engineering teams and provide performance feedback and goal-setting; conducts annual performance reviews and skills development and training.
- Provide technical assistance/audits and marketing of products and services to the client.
Requirements
- Degree or qualification in project and/or engineering management.
- ECSA registration advantageous.
- 5 Years practical experience in the projects/engineering management fields.
- 2 Years experience in an aluminium / manufacturing environment.
- Technical knowledge of equipment used in aluminium industry.
- Proven working experience in project and/or engineering management and organisational skills.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Projects.
- Strong financial comprehension pertaining to budgets and job costing.
- Good understanding of principles of health, safety, environmental and quality in the workplace.
