About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Modal & Customs Controller to join our medium-sized freight client based in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both sea and air transportation, as well as experience with imports and exports, and exposure to customs regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and control cargo movements across various modes of transport (sea, air, land)
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations and procedures
- Maintain accurate records and reports on cargo shipments
- Collaborate with clients, carriers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and optimize logistics
- Monitor and analyze cargo trends and market developments
Requirements
- Experience in multi-modal transportation (sea, air, land) and customs clearance
- Proven track record of at least 4 years in a similar role, preferably in the freight or logistics industry
- Strong knowledge of CargoWise system and its applications
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Formal education in a relevant field (e.g. Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Customs Clearance)
