About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator with Bookkeeping skills to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting practices and professional services, with expertise in South African tax legislation and payroll compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll for employees
- Maintain accurate financial records
- Ensure compliance with SARS regulations and tax laws
- Manage provisionally taxed employees
- Handle employee disputes with SARS
- Prepare and submit EMP201 and EMP501 returns
- Administer UIF and COIDA claims
- Provide bookkeeping services using Pastel Payroll, Sage Online, and Xero Accounting
Requirements
- Minimum of 35 years experience as a Bookkeeper | Payroll Administrator in an Accounting Practice | Professional Services Industry
- Relevant Tertiary Education in Accounting | Finance
- Proficient in CaseWare
- Strong knowledge of South African Tax Legislation
- SARS eFiling expertise
- Understanding of VAT and PAYE
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications in Accounting or related field (if applicable)
