About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Test Analyst to join their team in Johannesburg. As a Senior Test Analyst, you will be responsible for leading and executing testing activities throughout the software development lifecycle. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the quality and reliability of software products.
Key Responsibilities
- Create test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on the project requirements and technical specifications.
- Execute test cases and record test results, document defects, and track their resolution using test management tools.
- Perform various types of testing, including functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, and performance testing.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand software requirements and user stories.
- Lead and mentor junior test analysts, providing guidance and support in testing methodologies and best practices.
- Participate in test design and requirement review meetings to provide inputs on testability and test coverage.
- Conduct root cause analysis of defects and work closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
- Track and communicate testing progress, risks, and issues to project stakeholders.
- Continuously improve test processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Test Analyst, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
- Strong knowledge of software testing concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
- Experience in creating test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Proficiency in using test management tools such as TestRail, JIRA, or similar.
- Solid experience in executing various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and diagnose defects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- ISTQB or related certifications are highly desirable.
