About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Social Media Content Specialist to join our team in Johannesburg, responsible for creating and executing high-quality content across various social platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing short-form video and platform-native content, excellent written communication skills, and a creative instinct.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and publish high-quality content across social platforms (including video, static posts, carousels, and stories)
- Film and edit short-form video content tailored for each platform
- Translate campaign ideas into engaging, on-brand creative assets
- Ensure all output aligns with brand tone, identity, and messaging
- Execute content plans and ensure timely delivery of campaigns
- Prepare content for publishing, including captions, tagging, and formatting
- Manage and organise content assets efficiently across projects
- Assist with quick turnarounds, edits, and updates when required
- Stay on top of digital trends, platform updates, and new content formats
- Monitor how content performs across platforms and use insights to improve future content and strategy
Requirements
- 24 years experience in social media content creation (agency or in-house)
- Strong portfolio showcasing short-form video and platform-native content
- Experience with tools such as CapCut, Canva, Adobe Premiere (or similar)
- Solid understanding of how major platforms work and what performs
- Strong creative instinct and attention to detail
- Ability to work quickly while maintaining quality
