Orange Farm: Warehouse Manager

About the Role

The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our warehouse in Johannesburg, ensuring efficient inventory management, logistics, and compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Inventory & Stock Control: Manage the receipt, inspection, and recording of raw materials and packaging.
• Material Handling: Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical stock takes to resolve any discrepancies.
• FIFO Compliance: Ensure proper rotation of stock using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) methods to prevent material spoilage or degradation.
• Liaise with Production: Stage and stage all required raw materials and ingredients on the production floor ahead of manufacturing schedules.
• Warehouse Operations: Supervise picking, packing, and dispatching processes to meet tight manufacturing deadlines.
• Space Optimization: Maximize warehouse layout, storage capacity, and general housekeeping.
• SOP Execution: Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to reduce waste and stock losses.
• Transport & Dispatch Management: Plan and coordinate logistics to ensure timely, accurate deliveries to clients.
• Fleet Oversight: Manage drivers, oversee loading procedures, and ensure goods are securely fastened for transit.
• Documentation: Verify and maintain accurate dispatch paperwork, delivery notes, and waybills.
• Staff Management: Lead, train, and manage warehouse personnel.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor team productivity, enforce discipline, and ensure workplace safety.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years experience as Warehouse Manager
• Good understanding of Microsoft Excel
• Logistics experience
• Experience in managing people necessary
