Johannesburg: TMO 18546 – Responsible Pharmacist

About the Role

Our client, a manufacturer and supplier of raw materials, active pharmaceutical ingredients to the pharmaceutical, nutritional, and cosmetic industries based in Gauteng, is seeking a qualified individual to join their team as a Responsible Pharmacist. The successful incumbent will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, drafting and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), staff training, and maintaining regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring regulatory compliance for all products
  • Drafting and continuous updating of SOPs in line with Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance as well as staff training
  • Responsible for all regulatory requirements as set out in the Pharmacy Act 1974 and Medicine Control Act including Act 101 Section 22C (1) to act as a Wholesaler and Importer
  • Upkeep of all SAHPRA and Department of Health and SAPC requirements
  • Physical warehouse inspections to ensure compliance
  • Assisting in qualifying new materials and suppliers and ensuring material complies with required specifications
  • Wholesale Pharmacy License Application and retention
  • Conforming to the companies QA, ISO systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy
  • 3-5 years experience in Quality Assurance and Regulatory
  • Atleast 1 year experience as a Responsible Pharmacist
  • Experience in Manufacturing is Preferred
  • Must be registered as a Pharmacist with South African Pharmacy Council
