Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to manage the full bookkeeping function across multiple entities for our client in Knysna. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys structure, accuracy, and independent ownership of the finance process.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance
- Capture and process financial transactions accurately
- Reconcile bank accounts, creditors, and debtors
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts
- Assist with month-end procedures and reporting
- Maintain organised filing systems and financial records
- Liaise with management and external accountants where required
- Support payroll processing for one entity
- Implement improved systems and documentation retention processes
Requirements
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping up to trial balance
- Experience with Sage Accounting and Sage Payroll
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification
