Job Summary
Hire Resolve is currently seeking a Junior Accountant to join a prominent mining company based in Johannesburg. This role is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional to gain valuable experience in the mining sector while working in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports specific to the mining sector
- Support the accounts payable and receivable processes
- Conduct bank reconciliations and assist with payroll administration
- Perform general ledger entries and ensure accuracy in financial data
- Help with the budgeting and forecasting processes
- Collaborate with the finance team on month-end and year-end close procedures
- Participate in various ad-hoc accounting projects as required
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Preferable completed articles at a reputable auditing firm
- 6 – 8 years of accounting experience, preferably in the mining or related sector
- Proficiency in MS Excel and financial accounting software
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- High level of integrity and professionalism
