About the Role
The Site HR Manager will be responsible for implementing and maintaining HR strategies that align with the overall business strategy on site, ensuring a highly effective team is managed with strong accountability. This role requires strong communication skills to support line management regarding Industrial relations and advise on best practice, while also driving Induction and Onboarding initiatives to maximize retention of prospective candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Implementation of HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy on site
- Management and maintenance of a highly effective team on site with strong accountability
- Reporting on site all HR metrics continuously
- Support line management regarding Industrial relations and advise on best practice
- Ensure compliance to the recruitment and selection process
- Management of employee attendance, absenteeism, and habitual sick leave on site
- Drive Induction and Onboarding initiatives with line management to maximize retention of prospective candidates
- Ensure legislative compliance on site in line with HQ Compliance department
- Training and development management
- Oversee workforce planning and staffing and ensure proper Compliance with talent management and succession planning strategies on site
- HR data management and ensure HRIS are managed continuously
- Drive Performance Management on site and ensure compliance to SOP
- Complete HR service delivery to line management on a generalist mining HR function
- Coordinate HR communication on site and ensure optimal Employee Engagement
- Manage Chronic IOD cases alongside HQ and site-specific clinic
Requirements
- National Senior Certificate B. Com HRM / B.Soc.Sc Industrial psychology Honours degree
- At least 10 years’ HR generalist experience in the Mining or Engineering Sector
- At least 5 years’ experience in a HR management role in the Mining or Engineering Sector
