IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanized state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this mine of the future. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development. Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills: Grade 12. Blasting Certificate. Mine Overseers Certificate of Competency. Mine Managers Certificate of Competency (Advantageous). Computer literacy (MS Office, Isometrix, etc) Valid Drivers License. Suitable candidates must have the following work experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as mine overseer within the mining industry. Strong knowledge of mining operations and production processes. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Experience in backfill and long-hole open stoping environment. Extensive Trackless mining experience. Extensive experience of massive mining. The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to: Oversee and manage daily underground operations to ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety policy and practices of the company. Manage surface paste plant and underground backfill operations safely and efficiently. Coordinate and schedule paste/backfill activities, including backfilling services, reticulation and barricading. Coordinate with stakeholders from production, geology, ventilation, rock engineering and engineering to ensure efficient and sustainable backfilling operations. Supervise a team of miners and contractors, providing guidance and support to ensure backfilling requirements and targets are met. Monitor fill quality, curing times, and stope readiness. Prepare and submit reports on backfilling activities, including production volumes, safety performance, and equipment maintenance.
