Midrand: Finance Business Partner

Job Description

This role is responsible for translating complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights that drive revenue growth, optimise margins, and inform executive decision-making. Key Objectives: Act as the primary finance partner to Product and Commercial teams Own product-level profitability, management accounting, and performance reporting Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning across product and revenue streams Deliver financial modelling and scenario analysis to support strategic initiatives Develop data-driven insights, dashboards, and KPIs to enhance decision-making Support executive reporting with clear, insightful financial narratives Key Responsibilities: Commercial & Product Finance: Partner with Product Managers to improve revenue, margins, and cost efficiency Analyse pricing, product performance, customer profitability, and sales trends Develop and maintain product P&Ls, unit economics, and contribution margins Provide insights into pricing strategies and product lifecycle performance Translate financial outcomes into commercial recommendations Management Reporting & Forecasting: Prepare monthly product and divisional performance reports with variance analysis Own short-, medium-, and long-term forecasting (24 months to 10 years) Identify financial risks, trends, and opportunities , with clear commentary Contribute analytical input into management accounts and executive reporting Financial Modelling & Decision Support: Build and maintain robust financial models for pricing and investment decisions Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis to support the strategy Continuously improve modelling assumptions and drivers Provide ad hoc analysis for commercial initiatives and projects Revenue Assurance & Data Analytics: Collaborate on reconciliation and validation models Analyse revenue trends to improve forecast accuracy Identify revenue leakage and margin risks Enhance insight into revenue quality and sustainability Dashboards, KPIs & Data Enablement: Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting tools Define and track key performance indicators Improve data integrity and accessibility Enable data-driven decision-making Budgeting & Planning: Support annual budgeting processes Translate strategy into financial plans and forecasts Monitor performance vs budget and recommend corrective actions Qualifications: CA(SA) or CIMA (essential) Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience Experience: Strong background in commercial finance and management accounting Proven experience in complex financial modelling Experience in multi-revenue stream environments (e.g. telecoms, tech, services, and FMCG) Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI ERP system experience and SQL / Power Query advantageous Telecommunications experience advantageous Knowledge & Technical Competencies: Advanced management accounting and commercial finance principles Strong forecasting and financial modelling expertise Knowledge of product profitability and pricing strategies Experience with data analytics and BI tools Understanding of revenue assurance concepts (advantageous) Key Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Effective business partnering and stakeholder management Ability to translate data into clear insights and recommendations High attention to detail and accuracy Self-motivated, proactive, and solutions-driven Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Key Behaviour: Strong commercial acumen and strategic mindset Collaborative and influential across teams Confident communicator with senior stakeholders Continuous focus on improvement and value creation High levels of ownership and accountability 📩 Ready to take on this exciting challenge?
