About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team in Milnerton, South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accounting and financial expertise to support the business objectives of West Coast Personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, journals, accruals, and assist with the preparation of financial statements.
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, including supplier and customer account maintenance and payment processing.
- Perform bank, cashbook, supplier, debtor, and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Maintain fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules, and process accounting adjustments and journal entries.
- Ensure compliance with VAT, tax, statutory requirements, internal controls, and support external audit processes.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, financial analysis, and variance reporting.
- Identify and resolve financial discrepancies while contributing to process improvements and reporting efficiency.
- Utilise accounting and ERP systems effectively and maintain accurate financial data and records.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support financial planning, reporting, and overall business objectives.
Requirements
- BCom Degree in Financial Accounting from a recognised university.
- 3–5 years’ accounting experience.
- Experience in a full-function accounting or financial accounting role.
- Exposure to month-end and year-end financial processes.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with accounting and ERP systems such as Sage Pastel, Sage Evolution, SAP, Xero, or QuickBooks.
