About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Conservation Manager to join our team in Mbombela/Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing conservation efforts and ensuring the effective management of protected areas. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee conservation efforts in Mbombela/Nelspruit, Mpumalanga
• Manage veld and conduct ecological restoration projects
• Develop and implement research programs and wildlife management plans
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements for protected area management
• Conduct data analysis and prepare reports on conservation progress
• Collaborate with team members to achieve conservation goals

Requirements

• Master’s degree in applied ecology, environmental science, or conservation biology
• 8+ years of experience in conservation management in a similar position
• Experience in veld management, ecological restoration, research programs, and wildlife management in Big 5 conservation
• Strong knowledge of South African ecosystems and biodiversity
• Solid grasp of statutory requirements for protected area management

Qualifications

• PhD in relevant field (advantageous)
