About the Role

The Data Quality Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of organisational data within the banking and finance sector. This role involves analysing data quality issues, implementing data validation processes, and collaborating with various teams to maintain and improve data standards.

Key Responsibilities

Define/Enforce DQ Rules:scorecards and exception triage.
Conduct regular data quality assessments to identify inaccuracies, inconsistencies, and anomalies across multiple data sources.
Develop, implement, and maintain data quality control procedures, including data cleansing and validation techniques.
Collaborate with data owners, business units, and IT teams to resolve data quality issues promptly.
Monitor data quality metrics and produce comprehensive reports for management and stakeholders.
Support data governance initiatives by enforcing data standards, policies, and compliance requirements.
Assist in the design and deployment of data quality tools and systems to enhance data integrity.
Perform root cause analysis of data quality problems and recommend corrective actions.
Keep abreast of industry best practises and regulatory changes relevant to data management and quality assurance.
Provide training and guidance to team members and business units on data quality principles and procedures.

Requirements

Professional qualification or certification in data management, data quality, or a related discipline is desirable.
Education: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: At least three years experience in data analysis, data quality management, or a related role within the banking and finance sector or IT environment.
Demonstrated experience in using data quality tools and software, such as data profiling, cleansing, and validation platforms.
Experience working with large datasets and relational databases.
