About the Role

Our client, a manganese mining company, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Improvement Specialist to optimize maintenance practices and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze maintenance practices and optimize (reactive vs planned vs predictive) maintenance strategies.
  • Develop and implement maintenance improvement plans aligned with business goals.
  • Optimize preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to reduce breakdowns and unplanned downtime.
  • Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA / RCA) on major and recurring failures.
  • Identify chronic equipment issues and improve MTBF and MTTR to enhance equipment reliability.
  • Coach and mentor artisans, planners, and supervisors in maintenance planning & scheduling improvement.
  • Drive behavioural change towards proactive maintenance and assist with training needs identification and competency development.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 and NQF level 6 engineering qualification
  • Project management certificate
  • Supervisory certificate in engineering
  • Qualified engineering artisan with valid trade certificate or equivalent (added advantage)
