About the Role
A well-established mining company is seeking an experienced and skilled Superintendent of Financial Accounting to join their team in Limpopo. As a key member of the Financial Reporting department, you will supervise and direct the financial accounting team, ensuring seamless operations and accurate reporting. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in financial accounting and leadership to drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile Group and companies annual financial statements.
- Supervise and direct the preparation of financial and management accounting reports.
- Perform trend and scenario analysis for business reporting and improvement purposes.
- Supervise and direct periodic accounting processes.
- Assist the line Manager in Preparing Exco and Board packs.
- Research and implement any new or amendments to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Liaise with internal and external auditors, providing information as required.
- Supervise the submission of all PAYE, value-added tax, dividends withholding tax, interest withholding tax, income tax, carbon tax, and royalty tax returns.
- Supervise the administration of tax matters such as income tax returns, provisional tax returns, objections to assessments, and capital gains tax.
- Reviewing of tax calculation and tax accounting, and disclosure for management and statutory accounting purposes.
- Manage SARS e-filing returns.
- Provide tax guidance and advisory services to the business.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of direct accounting and tax experience.
- Minimum 3 years experience with a mining house will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of SAP.
Qualifications
- B. Compt (Hons) in Accounting (CA with Tax experience will be advantageous).
