Job Description

Requirements: Minimum 10 years relevant civil construction experience Ideally be professionally registered with ECSA or SACPCMP National Diploma or BTech in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar degree Proven experience on roads and earthworks; stormwater systems; water and sewer reticulation, concrete structures, municipal infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of GCC / FIDIC contracts Proficient in MS Projects, Excel and construction reporting systems Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications Knowledge of COLTO/COTO specifications Valid driver’s license Willing to travel within KZN and work remotely when required. Key Responsibilities: Project & Site Management Manage day-to-day site operations on civil infrastructure projects. Coordinate construction activities in accordance with project programmes and specifications. Ensure efficient utilization of labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors. Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where necessary. Liaise with engineers, consultants, clients, subcontractors, and local authorities. Construction Supervision Supervise construction teams and subcontractors on-site. Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Conduct site inspections and quality control checks. Oversee setting out and interpretation of construction drawings. Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance Enforce compliance with OHSA and site-specific safety requirements. Ensure implementation of HSE policies and procedures. Conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments, and incident investigations. Maintain environmental and safety documentation. Contract Administration Assist with contractual claims, site instructions, and variation orders. Maintain accurate site records, daily diaries, and progress reports. Monitor project costs and productivity. Support monthly valuations and progress claims. Stakeholder Management Attend site meetings and provide technical input. Maintain professional relationships with clients and consultants. Ensure effective communication with all project stakeholders.
