Durban: Internal Sales Person (Chemical Industry)

Job Description

Key Responsibilities Sales & Customer Service Respond to customer enquiries via phone, email, and online platforms. Prepare and follow up on quotations aligned with pricing strategies. Process sales orders accurately and ensure timely delivery. Maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure repeat business. Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within the product range. Support external sales representatives with account management activities. Order Management & Administration Capture and manage sales orders on the ERP/CRM system. Liaise with warehouse, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure product availability and delivery timelines. Monitor order status and proactively communicate updates to customers. Maintain accurate customer records and sales data. Product & Technical Support Provide basic technical guidance on chemical products (training will be provided where necessary). Ensure correct product specifications and compliance with safety standards. Assist customers with product documentation such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Market & Sales Support Assist in preparing sales reports and forecasts. Track customer buying patterns and provide insights to management. Support marketing campaigns and promotions. Stay informed about market trends, competitors, and industry developments. Experience 25 years experience in an internal sales or customer service role Experience within the chemical, manufacturing, industrial, or related sector preferred Proven track record in sales support and order processing
