About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Chartered Accountant (SA) to join our Finance team in Port Elizabeth. As a critical member of our Finance team, you will play a key role in driving credible financial reporting, strengthening governance and controls, and enabling performance insight through improved processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end close timetable, ensuring reconciliations, journals, and sign-offs are completed on time.
- Deliver high-quality management reporting packs with clear variance commentary and consolidated insights.
- Support audit readiness by maintaining complete working papers, technical logs, and statutory schedules.
- Ensure that Annual Financial Statements are compiled accurately and submitted in-line with deadlines.
- Build forward-looking insight through rolling cashflow forecasting and covenant monitoring.
- Partner with BI teams to optimize reporting systems (Sage Intacc, Power BI).
- Collaborate with Heads of Department to interpret results, identify drivers, and agree corrective actions.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting improvements, evolving static budgets into dynamic models.
- Enable the finance & governance operating rhythm, contribute to cycle mapping and root-cause analysis, standardize processes/checklists/templates.
Requirements
- Education: CA(SA)
- Experience: 25 years post articles (industry or audit/consulting with commercial exposure)
- Knowledge: month-end close, controls/recons, MI, variance analysis, cashflow; audit working papers; IFRS exposure.
- Computer literacy: Excel (advanced), PowerPoint; ERP/reporting tools (Sage Intacc or similar); Power BI advantageous.
