Port Elizabeth: GMR2 Services Engineer

About the Role

The GMR2 Services Engineer is responsible for maintaining the plant’s uptime, controlling maintenance costs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the plant according to General Machinery Regulations 2(1) and ensure compliance with OSH Act of 1993 regulations for a plant loading of 15 MVA.
• Control maintenance costs within budget.
• Investigate and make recommendations for improved performance.
• Enforce discipline and good housekeeping in the workplace.
• Monitor absenteeism and take corrective action to maintain above-target levels.

Requirements

• National Diploma / B.Tech Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• Possession of a government certificate of competency (GCC) in line with power generation.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
• Above-average computer skills.
• Good communication and presentation skills on all business levels.
