About the Role
The Storeman is an important link in the company supply chain for maintaining standards of delivery to our customers. Our customers rely on our accuracy to ensure their production runs efficiently, and so our approach to stores activity is focused on making good internal decisions and always promoting accuracy from our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive goods into the company using the appropriate software.
- Ensure all paperwork is correct and goods received are in good order, assisting admin staff to ensure that accurate stocks are held on site.
- Check for damaged or missing items against delivery notes, move and rearrange stock, and ensure that products are stored safely in their allocated space and labelled correctly.
- Ensure that customer orders are picked daily, packed securely, labelled correctly, and dispatched accurately using the appropriate software. Load these orders onto the relevant vehicles in a safe and responsible manner to ensure that deliveries are made to the customer correctly and on a first-time basis.
- Issue and return stock to technicians as per job card and record issued stock on the computer system.
- Support the PI team by carrying out physical stock checks when necessary and maintain a high standard of general housekeeping within the store.
- Maintain the store and site to a safe and clean standard to ensure ease of availability of stock. Keep the site clean and tidy to ensure safe working practices and allow the site to function efficiently and in compliance with safety legislation.
Requirements
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Technical knowledge, experience, and qualifications are essential.
- Ability to drive a forklift (desirable).
- Strong communication skills at all levels.
- Enthusiasm for the task at hand.
- Ability to work in a safe and responsible manner. Must wear and use the correct personal protective equipment, as determined and provided by the company, and follow company health and safety and environmental procedures, policies, and reporting guidelines.
- Willingness to assist with other work or general tasks within the department as required.
- Ability to be trained and to utilize any computer software as designated by the company.
