Reporting To: Design Manager / Technical Manager

What Youll Be Doing:

  • Creating technical drawings that singfrom concept design, rendering, and detail design, to fully-fledged 3D manufacturing drawings.

  • Translating client needs into production-ready realities.

  • Collaborating closely with Design and Production teams to ensure manufacturability and technical soundness.

  • Updating drawing registers and keeping doc control systems sharp.

  • Tweaking and refining designs based on client or production feedback.

  • Offering hands-on technical support during production.

  • Occasionally getting out there for site measurements or helping with prototyping.

  • Engaging with suppliers on component specs and materials.

  • Driving product development and exploring new design concepts.

  • Assisting sales and manufacturing with technical support.

  • Handling cost estimations for both fresh and existing designs.

  • Analyzing cost comparisons after project completion.

  • And whatever else falls under your draughting domain.

What You Need to Bring:

  • A technical qualification in Mechanical or Architectural Draughting (Certificate/Diploma).

  • Mastery in AutoCAD and Inventor.

  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial design setting.

  • In-depth knowledge of:

    • Steel structures

    • Joinery

    • Plumbing

    • 12V electrical installations

    • Solar panel systems

    • Mechanical components

  • An eagle eye for detail and a methodical approach.

  • Grace under pressure and a proven ability to juggle multiple deadlines without breaking a sweat.

  • Problem-solving superpowerssolutions over excuses, always.

  • Fluent in Afrikaans or English (verbal and written).

  • Solid Excel and general computer skills.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience in sanitation or modular construction.

  • Familiarity with SANS standards and compliance codes.

  • Hands-on experience with fabrication or production processes.
