Pretoria: Cost Accountant – Dubigeon

Job Description

Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for executive review. Develop, maintain, and improve costing models within a manufacturing environment. Assist with the establishment and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOMs). Monitor and analyse Work in Progress (WIP) and production costs. Perform detailed variance analysis and provide recommendations to management. Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. Prepare financial models and profitability analyses for new products and projects. Reconcile accounts, process journal entries, and maintain accurate financial records. Manage cashbooks, petty cash, and asset registers. Coordinate interim and annual stock counts and ensure inventory accuracy. Assist with audits and respond to auditor queries. Work closely with production, stores, and management teams to improve factory profitability. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. Supervise and support a small finance and costing team. Minimum Requirements Grade 12 with a Diploma, BCom Degree, or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Cost & Management Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong cost accounting and management accounting experience. Experience with Bills of Materials (BOMs), inventory management, and production costing. Proven budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting experience. Knowledge of job costing and process costing methodologies. Experience supervising staff. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and variance analysis. Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing software will be advantageous.
