About the Role
An established high-volume manufacturing organisation is seeking a commercially astute and technically strong Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth across its engineered product portfolio while expanding into new high-volume industrial markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a clear commercial strategy to expand existing engineered product lines across OEM, OES, and aftermarket channels.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, distributors, fleet operators, and industrial customers.
- Identify new customer segments and growth opportunities through structured market analysis.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support new product introductions and customised solutions.
- Drive customer acquisition within sectors requiring durable, performance-driven engineered assemblies.
- Partner with technical teams to deliver compliant, fit-for-purpose solutions aligned with evolving regulatory and performance requirements.
- Monitor global and regional industry trends that influence demand for engineered systems.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- 8–12 years’ experience in business development, technical sales, or key account management within automotive, engineering, mining, renewable energy, or metal fabrication industries
- Demonstrated success in securing new B2B customers, developing new markets or product categories, managing long-cycle technical sales processes, and negotiating large-volume supply agreements
- Strong understanding of fabrication and assembly processes (laser cutting, forming, welding, finishing)
- Experience with engineered steel assemblies or regulated performance systems is advantageous
