About the Role
As a Sales Representative for tobacco-related products in Pretoria, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the allocated Free State territory. You will have the opportunity to work closely with store owners, managers, and staff to expand product ranges, introduce new products into stores, and execute promotions and activations.
Key Responsibilities
- Call on the full customer base (retail key accounts and wholesale channels) within the allocated Free State territory
- Prospect for new business and open new accounts
- Achieve monthly sales targets and KPIs
- Expand product range and introduce new products into stores
- Build and maintain strong relationships with store owners, managers, and staff
- Ensure optimal product placement, visibility, and merchandising (including gantries and displays)
- Monitor stock levels and place orders to avoid out-of-stock situations
- Do stock rotation in stores
- Execute promotions, activations, and in-store campaigns
- Conduct competitor analysis and provide market feedback
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
- Use mobile sales tools and applications to report on daily activities and performance
- Drive “switch-selling” by educating store staff and consumers on company brands
- Travel extensively within the region, including approximately 6 overnight stays per month
Requirements
- Relevant sales experience in a similar industry (tobacco-related products)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with mobile sales tools and applications
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively within the region
