About the Role
Hydro Power Systems is seeking 12 motivated Engineering Assistants to support our underground and surface operations in Welkom, Evander, Orkney, and Rustenburg. This role is ideal for hands-on individuals looking to gain experience in a mining engineering and technical environment while working with advanced drilling technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist artisans and technical teams with engineering and maintenance tasks
- Support installation, servicing, and repair of mining equipment
- Conduct basic inspections and report faults or abnormalities
- Ensure tools, materials, and work areas are prepared and maintained
- Adhere to mine health, safety, and environmental standards
- Assist with general engineering and operational duties as required
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) essential
- Previous experience in a mining or engineering environment (advantageous)
- Must have underground experience
- Basic mechanical or technical knowledge
- Physically fit and medically fit for underground work
- Strong safety awareness and willingness to learn
- Ability to work shifts and at various mine sites
- Clear criminal record
